UNeTech Institute is pleased to announce the fellows accepted into the third year of Opportunity Corps: Women in STEAM, our program to teach community members about entrepreneurship using both the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps-inspired curriculum and mentorship. The focus of the program is on how women can successfully face and overcome barriers in the entrepreneurship space; fellows are matched with successful women leaders from each of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields as mentors throughout the program
Opportunity Corps: Women in STEAM, in its third year, is a partnership with Nebraska Tech Collaborative powered by Aksarben, and offers women or femme-identifying people in the STEAM fields the chance at an eight-month fellowship and $500 stipend for completion. During the final sessions of the program, fellows work in teams to participate in a Pitch Presentation using technology from the catalog of inventions from women inventors at UNMC.
Program leaders include Stephanie Kidd and Megan Bell. Mentors for this program include Nancy Williams, Caitlin Schmit, Ameshia Doll-Weier, Haley Haas, Shiela Fields, and Alyssa Kuta Cave.
