Omaha Technology Pipeline
The Omaha Medical Technology Pipeline is a program that helps to prototype early-stage medical inventions. Established in 2019 with the Economic Development Administration’s award to UNMC, the EDA funding enabled multiple projects to nurture a medical technology innovation ecosystem in Omaha, NE. The Omaha Medical Technology Pipeline is part of that legacy.
A partnership between Metro Community College, the University of Nebraska Omaha, and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, the Omaha Medical Technology Pipeline connects inventors with prototype designers, 3D printing and manufacturing facilities, and engineering faculty capable of designing, building, and testing new medical technology.
From virtual reality-based training and specimen collection to health and wellness, to surgical robotics – the Omaha Technology Pipeline provides expansive technical support for all facets of medical innovation. Training prototype design students, advancing medical innovation, and laying the groundwork for a new generation of medical startups: the Omaha Medical Pipeline is a model of how institutions can nurture innovation ecosystems.
