The Adept, a laparoscopic surgical trainer, uses motion capture to translate the movement of real surgical tools into a 3D simulation. Inspired by popular video games, the surgeon completes competitive tasks. An internet- enabled AI finds patterns in the motion of the tool and provides a score of the doctor’s proficiency.
